A villa in Bali lives in hard weather: intense sun, heavy rain, constant humidity. Materials that look perfect on opening day can look tired within two years if they were chosen for the photo instead of the climate.

We lean on what the island already understands. Natural stone that darkens beautifully with rain. Hardwoods that silver in the sun. Lime plaster that breathes and softens rather than cracking. Roof forms that throw water well clear of the walls.

Just as important is what we leave out: high-maintenance finishes that need yearly attention, and imported materials that are hard to replace locally.

The test we apply is simple. Picture the same surface after ten monsoons. If it looks better for the weather, it belongs in the build.
